Washington, DC — American Constitution Society President Russ Feingold released the following statement in response to the recent court decisions limiting absentee voting extensions in Wisconsin amidst the pandemic.
“Free and fair elections are the bedrock of our democracy, and Americans should not have to make the terrible choice between their health and their right to vote as they are being forced to do today in Wisconsin. ACS will be watching to ensure that states live up to their obligation to provide their citizens a meaningful opportunity to exercise their rights in 2020 and beyond. We will have an election in November, and it is on all of us to make certain that such a choice is not put to our people once again.”
