The Power and Vital Role of Pennsylvania State Appellate Courts
The American Constitution Society (ACS) invites you to a conversation with Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justice Kevin Dougherty and Pennsylvania Superior Court Judge Maria McLaughlin. Please join us on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at 12:00 PM in Gittis 213. We’ll begin with lunch at 11:50 AM, followed by an in-depth discussion on the vital role of state appellate courts in our legal system.
Our panel will explore the unique structure of Pennsylvania's appellate system and the courts' role as arbiters of significant state law issues. Justice Dougherty and Judge McLaughlin will share firsthand insights into the decision-making processes that shape one of the busiest and most influential appellate court systems in the country.
