The Power and Vital Role of Pennsylvania State Appellate Courts

Penn Carey Law - Gittis Hall (Room 213), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

The American Constitution Society sits down with Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justices Kevin Dougherty and Daniel McCaffery and Pennsylvania Superior Court Judge Maria McLaughlin to discuss the crucial role of state appellate courts in our legal system. Both the unique structure of the Pennsylvania appellate system and the courts' position as the arbiter of important issues of state law will be of primary focus during the event. The judges will lean on their experience and offer a firsthand account into the decision making process of one of the busiest and most important state appellate court systems in the country. Lunch will be served and questions are welcome!
