“Slant”-ing Slurs: Reclaiming Slurs by Marginalized Communities, a conversation with Simon Tam

Please join Willamette Law ACS and Willamette’s Asian Pacific American Law Student Association for an evening with Simon Tam, the founder of the band The Slants, and Appellant in the Supreme Court case of Matal v. Tam, 137 S. Ct. 1744 (2017). Tam will perform original music and discuss his case against the US Patent and Trademark Office for denying his right to trademark his band name, a case which he won in a unanimous Supreme Court Decision.
