Progressive Lawyering and State Solicitors General
As states take a more active role in litigating issues of national importance, state solicitors general have taken on particular relevance. Serving as the state's chief appellate lawyer, state solicitors general are responsible for defending state policies in courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court, and advancing the interests of the state's citizens. In this panel discussion, we'll talk to three deputy solicitors general about their career paths and about the opportunities available for young progressive attorneys in state SG offices.
