Privacy & Law in the Modern Age: An ACS Symposium

Join us on March 25, 2022, an in-person event at the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School for a full-day conference on privacy. The event is brought to you by the American Constitution Society law school chapters at Drexel University, the University of Pennsylvania, Rutgers University, Temple University, and Villanova University.

We’re excited to announce Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) and Rep. Mary Gay Scanlon (PA-05) as a featured speakers, as well as many distinguished experts and practitioners.

Panels will cover a wide range of topics in privacy, from data privacy litigation, to privacy in the workplace, to the future of reproductive rights. Medical mandates against the backdrop of COVID-19 will also be highlighted.

Programming will run from 9:45 a.m. to 5 p.m., with registration and breakfast starting at 9 a.m. and a cocktail reception until 6:30 p.m..

Students! Your $5 ticket includes: Light breakfast, lunch, coffee, and at least one drink ticket at cocktail hour, as well as access to the full day of programming. However, we don't want to exclude anyone from this conference - if the ticket price presents an issue, please use the promo code "Waiver" to receive one of a limited set of fee-waived tickets. Please do this in good faith - we want people who need the fee-waived tickets to be able to access them.

CLE Credit:

This program has been approved for 4.0 CLE credits (1.0 Ethics credits and 3.0 Substantive credits) for Pennsylvania lawyers. CLE credit may be available in other jurisdictions as well. Attendees seeking CLE credit must register for CLE credit and make a payment via the online CLE registration link in the amount of $140.00 ($70.00 public interest/non-profit attorneys). COVID Procedures

Current University of Pennsylvania COVID protocols require non-Penn guests to fill out a green Penn Open Campus Pass to enter the Law building the day of the event, along with a photo ID. The Open Campus Pass system does ask for attestation of COVID vaccination to receive a green pass. Further, the University has instituted specific masking requirements for all events indoors on campus. Please be mindful of these protocols as you prepare for the event, and thank you again!
