Pathways to the Bench

College of Law: Room 170, Cincinnati, Ohio

In collaboration with UC Law's BLSA, Women in Law, Out & Allies, and Juvenile & Family Law, ACS at UC Law's invites guests to our blockbuster event of the year: Pathways to the Bench. We have invited state and federal, trial and appellate, judges and clerks to discuss the importance of such positions, their paths there, and how ACS can prepare senior legal officials to safeguard our most important institutions and constitutional values. We aim to host a diverse group of individuals who interact with the judiciary for a sit-down dinner, providing a more intimate, conversational opportunity to forge relationships with our membership.

After opening remarks from Dean of UC Law Haider Ala Hamoudi, join us for an informational panel for the first hour with guest panelists: Honorable Susan Dlott (S.D. of Ohio District Court), Honorable Marilyn Zayas (First District of Ohio), Honorable Jennifer Branch (Hamilton County Common Pleas), Honorable Carly Edelstein (Tenth District of Ohio), Honorable Kari Bloom (Hamilton County Juvenile Division), Ms. Nicole Newton (Term Clerk at the S.D. of Ohio District Court), and Ms. Saria Lattimore (Staff Attorney at the First District of Ohio).

Join us for an intimate, sit-down dinner for the second hour with additional judges, clerks, and guests including: Honorable Pierre Bergeron, Honorable Candace Crouse, Honorable Ginger Bock, and Honorable Virginia Tallent; representatives from Buckeye Justice Forum of LEAD Ohio, UC Law students, NKU Chase Law students, and more. Together we will discuss how we can best grow as a community and support each others' important work. RSVP here!
