Deputy Attorney General J. Michael Brown
J. Michael Brown will be speaking about his role in the Kentucky Office of the Attorney General, his path to his current office, and his experience advocating on behalf of the citizens of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Prior to his current role, Deputy Brown served as secretary of the Justice and Public Safety Cabinet for eight years, where he received the 2015 Nelson Mandela Award from Department of Public Advocacy. A former district court judge in Jefferson County, he was law director for the City of Louisville, an assistant commonwealth’s attorney. Brown was elected the first African American president of the Louisville Bar Association, and chaired the Kentucky Bar Association’s Task Force on Minorities.
