Civil Rights in the Trump Era

Loyola Law School; Robinson Courtroom;, Los Angeles, California

Join us for a conversation with Vanita Gupta, moderated by Professor Justin Levitt. Ms. Gupta was appointed by President Obama in 2014 as the country’s top civil rights official at the US DOJ, and now runs the nation’s leading civil rights coalition of more than 200 organizations. She’s led work on constitutional policing and criminal justice reform; race and gender discrimination; hate crimes and human trafficking; LGBTQ rights; disability rights; voting rights; and discrimination in education, housing, employment, lending, and religious exercise. If there's a hot social justice topic of the last decade, chances are good she's worked on it (or will be working on it).
