ACS Member News: Week of August 19, 2019

ACS Board Member Melissa Murray was quoted in an article on Title X restrictions affecting Planned Parenthood in The Atlantic.  

ACS State Attorney General Advisory Committee Member Terri Gerstein recently authored two pieces, one in Slate about Shell workers being forced to attend President Trump’s speeches, and another in The American Prospect about how several airlines have filed lawsuits fighting against paid sick leave laws in US states.  

ACS Chicago Lawyer Chapter Board of Directors Member Daniel Cotter recently authored two pieces, one concerning Acting Director of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Ken Cuccinelli’s recent comments concerning Lady Liberty in the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin, and another in the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin on the Trump administration’s actions to hinder legal immigration.   

ACS Faculty Advisor at Emory University and Member of the Georgia Lawyer Chapter Board of Directors Sarah Shalf was mentioned in a Law.com article about a federal judge who is arguing for prisoners' religious tenets concerning beard lengths. 

ACS Faculty Advisor at Duke University Joseph Blocher was recently quoted in a Houston Chronicle article concerning assault-style guns in Texas.  

ACS Lawyer Chapter Leader Katie O’Connor wrote a piece in Rewire News about actions house democrats are taking to demand Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s records. 

ACS Member Jed Shugerman co-authored a piece in the Gotham Gazette about how NY Attorney General James should sue to dissolve the Trump organization.  

ACS Member Elliot Williams recently joined CNN as a legal analyst.
