2014 ACS Student Convention: Brown at 60

The American Constitution Society (ACS) will hold its second Student Convention on February 28 - March 1, 2014 at UCLA School of Law. Reflecting upon the 60th anniversary of Brown v. Board of Education, join student leaders from across the country to discuss the impact of the ground-breaking decision, learn about current efforts to achieve educational equity, and explore innovative ways you can get involved in securing Brown’s future. Los Angeles serves as an ideal nexus to connect the landmark case’s legacy with the present-day efforts for immigration reform, thereby re-imagining and expanding Brown’s promise of equal opportunity for all.

This Convention builds on our highly successful inaugural Student Convention at Stanford Law School and two years of Bay Area student convenings, which was undertaken in partnership between ACS’s National Office and its Bay Area student and lawyer chapters. The Student Convention will be highly interactive-- students will be encouraged to engage with speakers, share their ideas, and contribute to developing ACS’s student voice. You will leave equipped with useful tools, new strategies and theories to tackle one of the most important policy issues of the day and make a difference in expanding opportunity within your communities.
