What is the American Constitution Society for Law and Policy?
The American Constitution Society for Law and Policy (ACS), founded in 2001 and one of the nation's leading progressive legal organizations, is a rapidly growing network of lawyers, law students, scholars, judges, policymakers and other concerned individuals. What are the dates?
The 2013 ACS National Convention will take place June 13-15, 2013. (The annual Student Retreat will take place on Thursday, June 13, from noon to 2 p.m.)
Where will the convention take place?
The 2013 ACS National Convention will take place at the Capital Hilton Hotel, located at 1001 16th St., NW, Washington D.C., 20005.
How do I get to the convention?
By plane
Three airports service the Greater Washington area:
- Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport is the closest and most convenient airport to D.C., located three miles to the south in Arlington, Va., just across the Potomac River.
- Washington Dulles International Airport is located 26 miles west of D.C. in Dulles, Va.
- Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport is 30 miles northeast of D.C. near Glen Burnie, Md.
By train
Union Station is located near Capitol Hill within D.C.
By subway
The convention is located 2 blocks east of both the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority's Farragut North and Farragut West metro stations. It is accessible via the Red, Blue and Orange Lines.
By car
Valet parking is available at the Capital Hilton for a fee of $40 a day.
How can I register?

Can I receive CLE credit?
Yes. ACS will offer CLE credit for both California and Illinois. If you would like to receive credit for a state other than these two, please check with that state’s CLE governing body. Check back for more details soon.
What is the dress code for the Thursday night GALA dinner? What about the rest of the events?
For the Gala Dinner, we encourage festive attire! Most men will be wearing suits, and many women will be dressed in cocktail dresses or professional attire. For the rest of the convention, we recommend business casual attire.
What is the cancellation policy?
While refunds are no longer available, registrations may be converted into fully tax-deductible contributions to ACS or transferred to another person. Please call 202-393-6181 or email convention@acslaw.org with any questions.
How do I make my hotel reservation?
