Steven Donziger & How to Hold the Powerful Accountable
Steven Donziger helped Amazon communities win a $9.5 billion judgment against Chevron for one of the worst oil-related catastrophes in history. He then was targeted by Chevron and Gibson Dunn and became the only person ever privately prosecuted by a corporation. He then was detained at home and in prison for nearly 1,000 days. He has received support from 68 Nobel Laureates, 120 NGOs, and numerous bar associations worldwide.
We will be cohosting the webinar with the Environmental Law Society and Association for Public Interest Law, as well as inviting students from all ACS chapters to join us to hear Steven discuss his extraordinary journey and how young lawyers can hold the powerful accountable.
