Progressive Prosecution

ACS at Ohio State will be hosting a Progressive Prosecution speaking panel this November. This will be an opportunity to discuss the trend in many states toward electing more progressive and reform-minded district attorneys, as well as the benefits and challenges posed by this trend. Speakers include Professor Doug Berman, creator and editor of the widely-cited Sentencing Law and Policy blog; Professor Amna Akbar, whose research and teaching focus on policing, punishment, and criminal law; Professor Ric Simmons, a former district attorney whose research and teaching focus on criminal law and procedure; Columbus City Attorney Zach Klein; and Nikki Baszynski, legal counsel for The Justice Collaborative.
