ACS Bay Area: Progressive Change in the Trump Era: A Fireside Chat with #Cut50's Jessica Jackson

Join the Bay Area Lawyer Chapter of the American Constitution Society for its inaugural Fireside Chat, a laid-back conversation on timely and relevant updates in the progressive legal space.

The first Fireside Chat will be led by former criminal defense lawyer and Chapter Chair Dan Roth and #Cut50 National Director and Co-Founder Jessica Jackson. The chat will focus on the First Step Act, the recent Congressional bipartisan criminal justice reform initiative, and its long, winding road to passage by the Republican House and Senate and eventual signing by President Trump. Jessica was a lead architect, strategist, and tireless advocate throughout the drafting and passage of the Act, which has had the immediate result of freeing people incarcerated in federal prison and prohibiting the inhumane practice of shackling women during childbirth, among other reforms.
