Criminal Justice Reform Forum with Guest Speaker State Senator Bill O'Neill

This event will be a Criminal Justice Reform forum where State Senator Bill O'Neill will speak on issues we face was a society and a state. In discussion will be the upcoming legislation in the field of criminal justice reform from State Senator, Bill B. O’Neill. The Senator will speak about "Ban the Box" legislation: disallowing a box on job application forms asking whether the applicant is a felon, a bill directing the Parole Board to articulate in writing the reason they are denying a parole-eligible inmate parole, legislation banning lifewithout-parole sentences for kids by statute, and expungement of criminal records. This will be followed by a Q & A with the UNM School of Law students.
