The Continuing Fight for LGBTQ Rights

Carolina Equality Alliance has invited ACS at South Carolina Law to co-host local attorney Kevin Hall of Womble Bond Dickinson as part of our celebration of Pride Week. Mr. Hall will be speaking about his pro-bono work in the area of LGBTQ+ issues, particularly in combatting "No Promo Homo" statutes. These statutes forbid the reference of any issues affecting LGBTQ+ youth/individuals in school health education curriculums. Mr. Hall will also be addressing the constitutional issues surrounding anti-LGBTQ+ laws, particularly in light of recent SCOTUS precedent. This event is open to all; we have advertised it extensively amongst our school community, will be providing lunch for those attending, and look forward to Mr. Hall's insight!
