ACS Movie Night: Nobody Speak: Trials of the Free Press

For our first movie night of the year, ACS will be showing Nobody Speak: Trials of the Free Press. The film deals with two different attacks on freedom of speech. The first one is the Hulk Hogan/Gawker lawsuit which deals with several legal questions: What can be deemed newsworthy? Is third-party funded litigation ethical? What are the implications set by the verdict against Gawker media? The second segment focuses on Sheldon Adelson's buyout of the Las Vegas Review Journal and the impact that a new owner can have on a journalist hub.
