Dinner Table Discussion: Racism in the American Prison System

Please join the NYU Law ACS Student Chapter at 7:00 p.m. EST on Wednesday, March 17th for a Dinner Table Discussion about the intersection of racism and the law. This conversation will be led by Adam Davidson, a Harry A. Bigelow Teach Fellow & Lecturer in Law at the University of Chicago. Professor Davidson will guide us through an intimate discussion about the American carceral system and how it shapes the lives of those who are incarcerated and their loved ones.

We will send around a couple of articles related to race in prisons to registrants to help ground our discussion. No background knowledge is required. This event should last for one hour.

Speaker bio:

Adam A. Davidson is a Bigelow Teaching Fellow & Lecturer in Law. His research focuses on the possible synthesis of constituional law and efforts to dismantle the prison industrial complex. He also interrogates criminal law's varied responses to people who commit crimes, victims of crimes, and other affected by criminal activity.
