The Glass Bench: Women Judges and The Pathway to the Judiciary
Only thirty-six percent of Federal Court of Appeals judges are women, fifteen percent of Third Circuit judges are women, and twenty percent of Eighth Circuit judges are women. There are twenty-five judges on the Second Circuit bench - but only five are women. What does this mean during a time when a near majority of law students are women?
Join UB Law’s ACS Student Chapter as we reflect on the path of women to the bar and to the bench, highlighting the lived experience of those who came before us. Come ask questions and hear the experiences of three of Western New York's women judges: Hon. Elizabeth J. Wolford, Hon. Debra Martin, and Hon. Amy Martoche.
