The recent passage of Prop 8 in California has caused discussion about the rights of gay Americans. A similar issue was considered by the Supreme Court in Romer v. Evans when voters in Colorado passed a referendum which prohibited state and local governments from passing anti-discrimination laws to protect gay rights. Professor Thomas Metzloff will show a recently-completed documentary about the origins of the Romer v. Evans case and then discuss its application to the current legal environment.
