ACS Chicago Lawyer Chapter Holds Program on Supreme Court Hot Topics

On August 7, 2008, the Chicago Lawyer Chapter closed out its busy summer of programs, discussions and events by co-sponsoring a program on "Supreme Court Hot Topics: First Amendment Cases and Other Key Decisions from the 2007-8 Term." The program was co-sponsored by the McCormick Tribune Freedom Museum and the Federalist Society and featured Richard A. Epstein, James Parker Hall Distinguished Service Professor of Law and Director, Law and Economics Program, The University of Chicago Law School; and Geoffrey R. Stone, Edward H. Levi Distinguished Service Professor, The University of Chicago Law School and Member of ACS's National Board of Directors. The program was moderated by Alison Cuddy, Senior Producer, Chicago Matters and Co-Host, Eight Forty-Eight, Chicago Public Radio. Nearly 200 lawyers, judges, law students, policymakers and interested community members attended to hear Professors Epstein and Stone discuss cases including the Indiana Voter ID case, Exxon Mobil and others.
The Chicago Lawyer Chapter would like to thank the Freedom Museum for coordinating the event, the University of Chicago Gleacher Center for hosting the event when RSVPs far surpassed the Freedom Museum's capacity, and the Federalist Society for co-sponsoring.
