The ACS Chicago Lawyer Chapter hosted "The First Amendment: A Debate on Current Issues Facing the U.S. Supreme Court" on July 12, 2007. The event, held at the McCormick Tribune Freedom Museum, featured a discussion regarding the Supreme Court rulings on several key First Amendment issues this term including items related to Teacher Union dues (freedom of assembly) and the prominent "Bong Hits 4 Jesus" case. The featured panelists included Richard Epstein, the James Parker Hall Distinguished Service Professor of Law, Faculty Director for Curriculum, and Director of the Law and Economics Program at University of Chicago Law School; Geoffrey Stone, the Harry Kalven, Jr. Distinguished Service Professor of Law at University of Chicago Law School; and was moderated by Donald Downs, Professor of Politics at the University of Wisconsin.
